Fitness Bug – my tips

So I’m feeling a bit disheartened with my blog as I was asked to remove my last post about my final straw, as the lady I spoke about in it found out and wasn’t impressed. How anyone could figure out who it was about is beyond me as I didn’t mentioned the salon name, her name or the town I live in. I wasn’t about to do that, my blog wasn’t to name  and shame, I just wanted to share what made me finally flip my fitness switch on and start being more healthy. Therefore once she found out she asked me to remove it, which I did, to be polite.

Fitness… I used to be that person that wanted to have my cake and eat it, pardon the pun. I wanted to lose weight but still wanted to have bad food and couldn’t really be bothered with exercise. I didn’t understand how people found it fun or wanted to do it in their spare time. However on this journey from my final straw I have found that I am enjoying exercise more than ever before and I can see how people love it. I’ve been doing workout in my house from YouTube and going to the gym with my fiancé. I totally get what I need to do I need to burn more calories than I eat so that I can lose weight its simple!


What really bugs me now is I can see my family and friends being in the situation I was in. complaining that they aren’t losing weight but not willing to do anything about it. Now I’m not trying to say that I know what I’m talking about or that I’m doing better than them. I don’t and I’m not. All I am saying is don’t be that person don’t complain to everyone that nothing is working if you’re not willing to work for it. We all love a night out or some yummy bad food and that’s allowed, if it wasn’t I wouldn’t be enjoying it this time. Have a cheat meal not a cheat week.

So if anyone is struggling for motivation at the moment here is my top tips that help me just now

1 – Comfy gym clothes and trainers, you don’t need to spend a fortune like I did, then I realised that Asda and Tesco had really nice range, so I bought some more…whoops

2 – Keep a log of what you do each week exercise wise, it doesn’t have to be in depth but just enough so you can look back and see how far you have come. This can be done in pictures or a note book – or both

3 – You don’t have to work out in a gym; YouTube is filled with workouts, find something you like.

4 – Amazing music that makes you want to keep going, this makes such a difference.

5 – And finally – don’t put too much pressure on yourself ! If you want to have a cheat meal have it! If you want to have a day off, do it! Never feel guilty, you need to live and enjoy what you’re working hard at!
